JDE

– Born From The Land

Coffee wakes most of us up every day, yet most of us don’t know the first thing about where it comes from.

That’s why JDE, more commonly known as Douwe Egberts, wanted to remind themselves and their employees where their roots are, in this case – Honduras.

As part of a new sustainability plan, we visited targeted Honduran farmers during the harvest season to hear stories of what the coffee industry and their land has given them.

These films are a homage to the humble, back-breaking beginnings of the stuff we all take for granted.

Shot on location in Honduras, director and photographer, Rob de Puy, captured the farmers in their natural habitats, bringing out the family connections and resilient charisma needed for working Honduran fincas.

"My finca is my passion. It is my second home. It is
my second family.”

The scenery was too stunning not to take pictures of your own, but I’ll use creative director Peter Hamelinck’s BTS instead, because they’re awesome.
